LA PAZ -- The Bolivian government on Saturday said Gonzalo Rodriguez, vice minister in charge of fighting smuggling, has died from the novel coronavirus.
According to officials, Rodriguez was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago after contracting the disease. His situation eventually worsened and he passed away on Friday night. (Bolivia-Vice Minister-Coronavirus)

ISLAMABAD -- Unidentified gunmen shot dead three people on the outskirts of Pakistan's capital Islamabad Saturday night, police said.
The incident happened in Bhara Kahu area of Islamabad, and the killed included a prayer leader at a mosque in the area and his 13-year-old son and a religious student, a police spokesperson said after the incident. (Pakistan-Gunshot-Mosque)

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Saturday authorized Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in the United States.
It is the third COVID-19 vaccine that has received the FDA's emergency use authorization in the country, following the first one developed by American drugmaker Pfizer in partnership with German company BioNTech, and the second one developed by American drugmaker Moderna. (US-FDA-Vaccine)

JOHANNESBURG -- Four men aged between 30 to 64 were shot dead and another was injured Saturday at Mitchells Plain near Cape Town, said South African police.
