ABUJA -- At least 14 people were killed and three others sustained injuries following a multiple-vehicle collision in Nigeria's southwest state of Ogun, an official said on Friday.

The incident on Thursday evening involved a commercial bus, a faulty stationary vehicle and a sedan car on a bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun state, said Babatunde Akinbiyi, a spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps in the state. (Nigeria-Traffic-Deaths)

MALE -- The Maldives Police Service (MPS) on Friday said that there were four persons of interest identified in the investigations into an attack on Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed.

The MPS in a press conference in capital Male said that investigations were underway into four suspects who were acting suspiciously in the vicinity of an explosion that injured Nasheed on Thursday evening. RIYADH -- A Saudi foreign ministry official has confirmed that talks are being held between Saudi Arabia and Iran with the aim of reducing regional tensions, Al Arabiya TV reported Friday.

The outcome of the talks were too early to be judged as Riyadh wanted to see "verifiable deeds," said Rayed Krimly, head of policy planning at the ministry. (Saudi Arabia-Iran-Talks)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- Two paramilitary troopers, a policeman and a civilian were wounded on Friday after militants carried out a grenade attack in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
